Terrence Thornton, known as Pusha T, is an American hip hop artist from Virginia Beach, Virginia, born on May 13, 1977. He was the President of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music label from 2015 to 2022.

Pusha-T made his debut in 1999 alongside his brother No Malice (Gene Thornton) as Clipse with "The Funeral" from the album Exclusive Audio Footage. Although the album was eventually shelved, they proceeded to release Lord Willin', Hell Hath No Fury, and Till The Casket Drops over seven years. In 2009, No Malice became a born-again Christian and decided to discontinue rapping about his prior lifestyle, leading Pusha to pursue a solo career.

In 2010, Pusha was invited to Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy sessions in Hawaii and subsequently signed to West's G.O.O.D. Music label. By November 2015, Pusha-T had been named President of G.O.O.D. Music by Kanye West.

Since joining G.O.O.D Music, Pusha T released Fear of God, Fear of God II: Let Us Pray, Wrath of Caine, and My Name Is My Name. His second solo album, Darkest Before Dawn, was released on December 18, 2015. In 2018, he released his third studio album DAYTONA, receiving critical acclaim, and it was executive produced by Kanye West.

Pusha T describes his music as "high taste level, luxury, street hip hop [that’s] lyric-driven" and aims to evoke an emotion that resonates with the streets.

Pusha is known for his complex rhyming style, typically connecting up to four bars with dense wordplay. His delivery shifted from the faster, sharper style of his Clipse days, where he rapped only 16 bars, to a more varied approach in his solo career. Influenced by rappers The Notorious B.I.G. and Big Daddy Kane, Pusha T showcased his capacity to work with top industry producers, including The Neptunes, Kanye West, The-Dream, Nottz, DJ Don Cannon, and Hudson Mohawke. As his solo work advanced, he demonstrated a unique ability to rap over unconventional beats, delving into electronic music exemplified in Hudson Mohawke’s “Chimes Remix” and Yogi’s “Burial.”

King Push dissected some of his notable lines, including his signature "yuugh" ad-lib, in conversations with Genius.
