Friend Within
Friend Within is the house-focused project of UK producer and DJ Lee Mortimer. He emerged in 2013 with early EPs for Dirtybird and Hypercolour, while his track “The Renegade” was signed by Disclosure. His work moves across house, deep house, tech house, bassline and UK garage, with releases also appearing through labels including Toolroom, Hot Haus Recs and A-Trak & Friends.
Mortimer has collaborated with artists including Disclosure, Friendly Fires, A-Trak, Kideko and Shadow Child, and has remixed material by John Legend, London Grammar, Ella Eyre and Nero. Toolroom released his debut album, Hope. As a DJ, Friend Within has held residencies at Ministry of Sound, Stealth and Mint Club, and has played events including Fabric, Parklife, Creamfields, Printworks and Glastonbury.
