“Don’t” turned Bryson Tiller from a Louisville artist with a 2011 mixtape into a major R&B and rap presence. Released in 2015, the single reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned quintuple-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. Its success brought Tiller to RCA Records, which released the song as the lead single from his debut studio album, Trapsoul.

Born January 2, 1993, Tiller began his recording career with the mixtape Killer Instinct Vol. 1 in 2011. Trapsoul, released in 2015, entered the top ten of the Billboard 200 and was certified triple platinum. The album also produced “Exchange,” a quintuple-platinum single that received a Grammy Award nomination, and “Sorry Not Sorry,” which was certified double platinum.

In 2017, Tiller joined Rihanna on DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts.” The single reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and received nonuple-platinum certification. That same year, his second album, True to Self, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. His third studio album, Anniversary, arrived in 2020 and peaked at number five.

Tiller released his self-titled fourth album in 2024. It peaked at number 12 on the Billboard 200 and included “Whatever She Wants,” a top-20 Billboard Hot 100 hit certified triple platinum. His fifth album, Solace & The Vices, followed in 2025.

His honors include BET Awards for Best New Artist and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. In March 2016, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer presented him with the key to the city. Tiller has received four Grammy Award nominations, including two connected to his work with H.E.R., on her 2018 single “Could’ve Been” and her 2021 album Back of My Mind.
