UKF
UKF started as a YouTube channel. Luke Hood set it up in April 2009 while still at school in Frome, Somerset, to share drum and bass and dubstep with friends, and the two original channels grew fast enough that the London media company AEI Media bought half the brand in 2012.
The label came out of the audience rather than the other way round. UKF now runs five channels alongside compilations, podcasts, events and its own ticketing platform, and its releases keep to the same broad bass-music remit the channels built: drum and bass first, with dubstep and its offshoots close behind.
