BCee

Steve Jefroy, known professionally as BCee, is an English drum and bass producer whose work is closely associated with liquid funk. He has also released music under the names Boycee, S. Jefroy, and Steve Jeffery.

In 2005, Jefroy founded Spearhead Records, a drum and bass label that has served as the main home for his album releases. He later established Future Retro Records as a sister label to Spearhead, and he has also been involved as one of the founders of Rubik Records. Alongside his production work, BCee has maintained an active DJ profile, beginning his DJ career in 1995 and discovering drum and bass in 2001.

BCee’s catalog sits within drum and bass and liquid funk, often pairing rolling rhythms with melodic writing and vocal-led tracks. In 2017, he released his fourth studio album, Northpoint, described as a collection of liquid drum and bass songs with warm vocals. In addition to his output through Spearhead, his music has appeared via a range of drum and bass outlets including Liquicity Records, UKF, SUNANDBASS Recordings, and Soulvent Records.
