Roland Clark
Roland Clark is an American house music DJ, producer, songwriter and vocalist from Newark, known both under his own name and through projects including Urban Soul, Jesus Jackson, Digital Pimps, Dark Clark and South Street Player. His work spans house, deep house and garage house, with credits as a producer, writer, performer and mixer.
Clark's vocals and songwriting feature on Armand van Helden's “Flowerz,” from the 1998 album 2 Future 4 U. Fatboy Slim sampled Clark's “I Get Deep” on “Star 69” and “Song for Shelter,” both included on the 2000 album Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars. “I Get Deep” was later sampled in Katy Perry's 2017 single “Swish Swish.”
As Jesus Jackson, Clark co-recorded “Running on Sunshine” with Fatboy Slim. He has also provided writing and vocal work for artists including Todd Terry, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Duke Dumont, Dimitri Vegas and Vintage Culture.
