
Robert Glasper
Robert Glasper is an acclaimed producer, songwriter, and pianist from Houston, Texas. He is the leader and main instrumentalist for the modern jazz group The Robert Glasper Experiment.
In 2012, he gained significant success and exposure with The Experiment’s debut studio album, Black Radio. He received three Grammy Awards and was nominated for seven. Black Radio not only brought jazz back into the spotlight but also introduced new names to the genre.
Following the release of the record, Glasper began to broaden his horizons by collaborating with artists such as 9th Wonder, Common, and Bilal. After the release of his 2013 Experiment sophomore album, Black Radio 2, he had the opportunity to work with rapper Kendrick Lamar on his platinum-selling album To Pimp A Butterfly. He also collaborated with Common on 2016’s Black America Again, and with Big Krit in 2017 on his critically acclaimed 4eva Is A Mighty Long Time.
As of 2018, Glasper boasts an impressive catalog that includes a Miles Davis tribute, over a dozen rap collaborations, two group albums, and numerous bestselling solo records.
