LANY is a dream pop duo from Los Angeles, made up of Paul Klein and Jake Goss. The band was formed in March 2014, and their name is an acronym for “Los Angeles New York.”

When Klein met the other members in Nashville, LANY was created, leading Goss and Priest to leave their previous project, WRLDS. A month later, the trio anonymously uploaded two tracks to SoundCloud. Their 3-track debut EP, Acronyms, boosted their fan base and online presence, particularly with the hit song “ILYSB.” After releasing two more singles, the band revealed their identities.

The band’s second album, Malibu Nights, was announced on March 8, 2018, via Instagram, and written between January 4 and February 14, 2018. It was released on October 5, 2018.
