King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard is a psychedelic rock band from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2010 as a one-time act for a party. The members include Stu Mackenzie (vocals, guitars, flute, zurna, keyboards), Joey Walker (guitars, sitar, vocals), Cook Craig (guitars, vocals, bass, keyboards), Ambrose Kenny-Smith (harmonica, vocals, keyboards), Lucas Harwood (née Skinner) (bass, keyboards), Michael Cavanagh (drums), and Eric Moore (drums, percussion, theremin) until late 2020.
As of their 2021 album Butterfly 3000, the band has been independently self-releasing albums, sometimes referred to as KGLW. Before this, they were signed to Flightless Records, a label created and run by their former drummer, Eric Moore. Other bands associated with Flightless include The Murlocs (which features Gizz members Ambrose and Cook), The Babe Rainbow, Pipe-eye (Cook’s side project), ORB, and Stonefield (whose drummer is married to Gizz member, Cavs).
