Galantis

Galantis broke internationally with the 2014 single “Runaway (U & I),” a track that introduced the Stockholm electronic act to a wide pop and dance audience. “Peanut Butter Jelly” and “No Money” followed as further hits, placing the project among Sweden’s prominent crossover dance acts of the 2010s.

The project was formed by Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson and Linus Eklöw, the producer and DJ known as Style of Eye. Karlsson had already worked as a record producer and was part of Miike Snow, while Eklöw had produced Icona Pop’s “I Love It” and remixed Miike Snow material. Galantis initially signed with Big Beat Records and released a self-titled EP before issuing its debut album, Pharmacy. Its singles included “Runaway (U & I)” and “Peanut Butter Jelly.”

Galantis followed with The Aviary in 2017, expanding the project’s pop-facing dance records through collaborations with writers and vocalists including BullySongs, Bonnie McKee, Wrabel and Ross Golan. The group’s early recordings also involved collaborators such as Cathy Dennis, Vincent Pontare and Jennifer Decilveo. Their music has moved across house, electronic pop, dance, electro house, progressive house and club-focused styles.

Eklöw decided to leave the project shortly after The Aviary, though he continued to appear in Galantis live performances and music videos through 2021. Karlsson carried Galantis forward as a solo act, releasing the album Church in 2020 and working with collaborators including Bali Bandits, David Saint Fleur and Henrik Jonback. In the years that followed, Galantis released collaborations with artists including Little Mix, Becky Hill, Mabel, Craig David and MNEK. In June 2023, Karlsson announced a new Galantis single, “Bang Bang! (My Neurodivergent Anthem).”
