PAN
PAN is a Berlin record label founded in 2008 by Bill Kouligas, working across contemporary music and art rather than treating the two as separate worlds. Its catalogue has brought experimental electronic artists into contact with visual-art contexts, including collaborations with institutions such as London’s ICA.
The label has released and distributed work by Yves Tumor, Amnesia Scanner, Anne Imhof, Arca and Eartheater, artists whose records connect PAN to adventurous electronic production, voice-led experimental work and contemporary performance. More recent names associated with the label include Heith, upsammy, Valentina Magaletti, SoFTT, Le Diouck and RHR.
In 2017, PAN issued Mono No Aware, its first compilation album. The release gathered ambient music by artists on the label, offering a focused view of PAN’s interest in atmosphere, texture and sound as an open-ended artistic medium.
