Wuki
Kris Barman, known professionally as Wuki, is an American musician, DJ, and record producer. He first came to wider attention as a member of the electronic rock band Innerpartysystem, a role he held from 2007 to 2011. In the group, Barman contributed as a backing vocalist and instrumentalist, playing guitar and synthesizer, and he also took part in programming.
After his period with Innerpartysystem, Barman focused on work under the Wuki name. His profile as a remixer and producer led to industry recognition in 2020, when he received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Remixed Recording for his work on Miley Cyrus’s “Mother’s Daughter.”
Wuki’s debut album, WukiWorld, was released in 2021, marking a major milestone in his recorded output under the project. Alongside his album work, he has continued to be active as a DJ and producer, with releases appearing through a range of electronic and dance-focused imprints, including Thrive Music, D4 D4NCE, Catch & Release, CAPITOL CATALOG MKT (C92), and HELDEEP Records.
