Tycho
Scott Hansen, known professionally as Tycho, is an American musician, record producer, composer, and songwriter whose electronic music often pairs analogue synthesizers with guitar. Born February 7, 1977, he is based in San Francisco and works across downtempo, ambient, and electronic forms.
Tycho began as Hansen’s solo project, with early work including Past Is Prologue and Dive. The project later expanded into a trio with Zac Brown and Rory O'Connor, who joined for Awake and Epoch. Both albums were subsequently issued in deluxe editions.
In 2019, Tycho released Weather, a vocal-led album featuring Saint Sinner. Alongside his music, Hansen works under the name ISO50 for photography and design. The name Tycho was inspired by the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe.
