Reuben James

Reuben James is a British singer, songwriter and pianist whose work moves between jazz, soul and contemporary R&B. He has collaborated with Sam Smith, including co-writing material for Smith’s album The Thrill of It All, and has also written for and performed with artists including John Legend, Herbie Hancock, Disclosure and Little Mix.

James’s debut EP, Adore, received BBC Radio and Jazz FM playlist support. He was named Rising Star at the 2014 British Jazz Awards, and has sold out shows at Ronnie Scott’s. His 2020 EP Slow Down included the singles “My Line” and “So Cool,” which received plays across BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing and Jazz FM. Later releases include “BBQ Energy” and “Tunnel Vision,” featuring Frida Touray, Daley and Tom Misch.
