
Planetary Assault Systems
Luke Slater is an English electronic musician, DJ and record producer whose work has focused on techno since the early 1990s. Born in Reading on 12 June 1968, he reached wider commercial success with the tracks “Love” in 1997 and “All Exhale” in 1999.
Slater has worked through a large network of aliases as well as under his own name, releasing and performing under more than 10 different identities. Planetary Assault Systems is the best known of them, alongside LSD. Under the Planetary Assault Systems name, he has developed a substantial techno catalogue associated with acid, minimal, dub and Detroit-informed approaches to the style.
His recordings have appeared through labels including Mote Evolver, Cocoon Recordings and Ostgut Ton. Other Slater aliases include L.B. Dub Corp, The 7th Plain, Clementine, Translucent, 1st Bass and Offset, reflecting a career built across multiple electronic-music projects while maintaining techno as its central focus.
