Cocoon Recordings
Founded in 2000 by DJ and producer Sven Väth, Cocoon Recordings was created to complete the wider Cocoon platform and give young electronic artists a place to develop. Based in Frankfurt, Germany, the label operates as a division of Cocoon Music Event GmbH.
Its catalogue is rooted in techno and electronic club music, with Väth's own work sitting alongside releases by artists whose records bring different shades of the sound into focus. Extrawelt's detailed electronic productions, Robag Wruhme's idiosyncratic techno, Roman Flügel's broad electronic approach and Raxon's club-driven tracks reflect the range around Cocoon's central dancefloor identity. Later work by Jonathan Kaspar, Damiano von Erckert and Matthias Schildger extends that focus across contemporary electronic music.
Cocoon Recordings remains closely tied to Väth's musical world while functioning as a label for producers beyond its founder. Its purpose from the outset wasn't simply to document one artist's output, but to support emerging talent within electronic music.
