Parcels
Parcels rose to wider attention through “Overnight,” their 2017 single written and produced in collaboration with Daft Punk. The track arrived after the Australian five-piece had relocated from Byron Bay to Berlin in 2014, the same year the group formed.
The band consists of Louie Swain, Patrick Hetherington, Noah Hill, Anatole Serret and Jules Crommelin. Their music brings together electropop and disco-soul, with elements of funk, electronic music and five-part vocal harmony. Parcels themselves have described the sound as “sort of a blend between electropop and disco-soul.”
After signing with the French label Kitsuné, Parcels released a run of early singles and EPs, including 2016’s Herefore, which featured remixes by Roisto, Her and Onda. Their self-titled debut album followed in 2018. Its singles included “Tieduprightnow,” “Bemyself,” “Lightenup” and “Withorwithout,” extending the group’s polished, rhythm-led blend of disco, boogie and indie pop.
