Maroon 5

Pop

Maroon 5 is a pop rock band from America, first established in 1994 as Kara's Flowers while they were still in high school. They signed with Reprise Records and released the album, The Fourth World, in 1997. After receiving a mediocre reaction, they parted ways with the label, attended college, and regrouped in 2001, adding James Valentine to their lineup and adopting the name Maroon 5.

Their initial major success came with “Harder to Breathe,” the lead single from their debut album, Songs About Jane. The ongoing success of that track, along with singles like “This Love,” “She Will Be Loved,” and “Sunday Morning,” established them as a noteworthy pop-rock band.

For their second album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long, they shifted towards a polished pop production, which paid off. The lead single “Makes Me Wonder” soared 63 spots in one week to claim the number one position, marking their first #1 hit.

With the albums Hands All Over, Overexposed, and V, the band has gradually embraced a pop sound while maintaining their broad appeal. Following the #14 peak of their 2010 release “Misery,” they reached the top ten with each of their singles until 2015’s “This Summer’s Gonna Hurt.”

Their consistent approach of blending themes of love and casual relationships has retained fans from the early 2000s and attracted new ones throughout the 2010s.
