Ella Mai

Ella Mai Howell, born on November 3, 1994, is a British R&B singer and songwriter hailing from Surrey, England. While she was a student at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute in 2014, Mai auditioned for The X-Factor as part of a trio.

Between 2015 and 2017, Ella released four EPs: Troubled, Time, Change, and Ready. The latter three EPs were released through Mustard’s record label, 10 Summers Records.

In 2018, Ella Mai released her self-titled debut studio album, Ella Mai, which debuted at #1 on the US R&B charts. The album featured collaborations with R&B artists such as Chris Brown, John Legend, and H.E.R.

Nearly four years later, in May 2022, Ella released her second studio album, Heart On My Sleeve, featuring hit singles like “Not Another Love Song” and “DFMU.”
