DJ Stingray

DJ Stingray, born Sherard Ingram, is a Detroit electronic music producer and DJ closely associated with the city's techno and electro traditions. Also known as DJ Stingray 313 and Drexciyan DJ Stingray, he founded Urban Tribe and has been an associate of the Detroit electro duo Drexciya.

Ingram's work as both a producer and DJ centers on futuristic electro and techno. He favors fast tempos and inventive beat patterns over more accessible, club-oriented rhythms, a preference that has defined his approach across recordings and sets. Although his music is often discussed through the lens of electro, he has said he prefers to classify his style simply as techno.

Operating from Detroit's electronic music culture, DJ Stingray has worked across electro, techno, breakbeat, experimental electronics and related forms. His releases have appeared through labels including Tresor Records and Motech, while his Urban Tribe project remains a central part of his artistic identity.
