Âme

Âme, the German house and techno duo of Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann, were named Mixmag’s “Duo of the Year” in 2006. Their partnership began after the two met in 2000 at Beyer’s record shop in Karlsruhe. Sharing a taste for Chicago house and Detroit techno, they began producing together the following year.

Since starting out in 2001, Beyer and Wiedemann have built Âme around DJ culture and club-focused electronic music, drawing from house and techno traditions while working across minimal, deep house and melodic strains. The pair have released music through labels including Ostgut Ton and Sonar Kollektiv, alongside their own Innervisions imprint.

Âme co-own and manage Innervisions in Berlin with Dixon. The label has become a central part of the duo’s work beyond their own productions, linking their roles as recording artists, DJs and label operators. Though formed in Karlsruhe, Âme are now based in Berlin.
