LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM (Hangul: 르세라핌) is a 5-member South Korean girl group formed and managed by Source Music and HYBE. They debuted on May 2, 2022, with their first mini album titled *FEARLESS*, accompanied by the title track of the same name. Initially a six-member group, Kim Garam exited on July 20 of the same year following the official termination of her contract.

The group's name is an anagram for their motto, “I’M FEARLESS,” reflecting their confidence and determination to move forward without being influenced by external perceptions. LE SSERAFIM, being a quintet, is inspired by the Seraph, a six-winged celestial being that represents the highest-ranking angel in Christian angelology.

On March 14, 2022, both companies announced the launch of their new girl group, confirming that former IZ*ONE members Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon would be part of the lineup. Subsequent individual video teasers were shared on HYBE’s official YouTube channel in mid-April, introducing other members: Hong Eunchae, Kazuha, and Huh Yunjin, who previously represented Pledis Entertainment on the 2018 Mnet survival show *Produce 48*, alongside Chaewon and Sakura. Soon after, it was disclosed that LE SSERAFIM's first extended play would be released in early May. Additionally, on August 8, the group announced their fandom name, FEARNOT, which is a homonym of “blooming” (피어나) in Korean.

On September 1, Source Music informed Newsen that LE SSERAFIM was gearing up for their first comeback, which was rumored to be unveiled later that year. The group's second mini album, *ANTIFRAGILE*, was released on October 17, 2022, following the release of its official trailer titled “The Hydra” on September 26.

On January 25, 2023, LE SSERAFIM marked their Japanese debut with the single *FEARLESS*, which had been announced on their social media platforms two months earlier.
