HNNY

HNNY, pronounced “honey,” is the stage name of Malmö-born Swedish producer and DJ Johan Cederberg. Working across ambient and house music, he has developed a sample-led approach that frequently draws on vocals from American R&B records alongside less familiar source material.

Cederberg released several singles and EPs through the Swedish label Local Talk, a run that placed his warm, melodic house productions in circulation with DJs and listeners drawn to soulful samples and unhurried grooves. He later began issuing music through his own label, Puss, giving the project a direct home for subsequent releases.

As HNNY, Cederberg has balanced dancefloor-focused house with more atmospheric ambient work. The name has also appeared in the stylized form ʕ•͡ᴥ•ʔ, while HNNY remains the primary identity for his recordings and DJ work.
