Music From Memory
Music From Memory takes its name from Vito Ricci's album Music from Memory, a fitting reference for an Amsterdam independent devoted to bringing overlooked recordings back into circulation. Founded in 2013 by Abel Nagengast, Jamie Tiller and Tako Reyenga, the label began with reissues of rare, obscure music that had fallen out of print.
The label's work has drawn attention to recordings that might otherwise have remained difficult to find, with a focus on music recovered from outside the usual reissue canon. Its catalogue has also grown beyond archival releases to include contemporary artists. Loradeniz, Turn On The Sunlight, Fabiano Do Nascimento, SY3, Johnny Sais Quoi, E Ruscha V, Magnus Bang Olsen and Anthony Calonico are among the artists associated with its newer releases.
Based in Amsterdam, Music From Memory is run by Jamie Tiller and Tako Reyenga. The label connects its reissue roots with new work by present-day musicians, while its name remains a direct nod to the record that inspired the project.
