Katermukke
Founded in Berlin in 2011 by German DJs Dirty Doering and Sascha Cawa, Katermukke is a house label closely tied to the city's Kater Blau club in Friedrichshain. Its name and identity also connect it to Kater Blau's predecessor venues, Kater Holzig and Bar 25, where artists associated with the label regularly DJ.
The label's output sits in Berlin's house and techno club culture, with Dirty Doering among the central artists in its story. Releases by figures including Niconé, Matchy, Jares, Vanita, Ava Irandoost, GIGEE and Justin Marchacos extend that circle of DJs and producers. Katermukke has issued music on vinyl and has also released artist albums and compilations on CD.
Its visual mark is a cat's head with an X in the eye on the viewer's right, a fitting emblem for a label built around the Kater club community. Katermukke is regarded as one of Germany's most successful house labels.
