TOBACCO
Thomas Fec, known as TOBACCO, is an American electronic musician from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Born February 6, 1980, he works both as a solo artist and as the frontman of the psychedelic rock band Black Moth Super Rainbow.
Fec's music draws on electronic, psychedelic, experimental and hip-hop-adjacent approaches. In both his solo work and Black Moth Super Rainbow, he has worked prominently with pre-digital electronic instruments, including analog synthesizers and tape machines. He has also released music under variations and alternate names including Tabacco, Tobaxxo, Sbarro Hottopic and Numbie Poison.
In late 2018, TOBACCO joined rapper Aesop Rock to form Malibu Ken. The duo released its self-titled debut album in January 2019. Alongside his band work and collaborations, Fec has maintained a solo career under the TOBACCO name.
