The Prodigy
British electronic band, formed in 1990. Their debut release was the "What Evil Lurks" EP (1991). Initially, their music focused on rave/breakbeat, but transitioned to a more mainstream sound incorporating rock guitars with their third album "The Fat Of The Land" (1997).
Band members:
Liam Howlett - leader, keyboards, synthesizers, programming, laptop, computer, samples, sequencers, turntables, drum machines (1990-present)
Maxim - MC, beatboxing, vocals (1991-present)
Former members:
Keith Flint - dancing (1990-2019); lead vocals (1995-2019)
Leeroy Thornhill - dancing (1990-2000); occasional live keyboards, synthesizers (1994-2000)

The original Prodigy lineup consisted of Liam on keyboards and Leeroy, Keith, and Sharky as dancers, formed in late 1990 (officially dated October 5, 1990, by The Prodigy). Maxim joined on short notice to MC at their debut performance at Labrynth in Dalston, London, in February 1991. Sharky departed the group at Christmas 1990 after securing a record deal with XL, as she preferred not to commit more time to the band. Their initial contract with XL was for 4 singles, with XL providing a £1500 advance before the release of the first single.
Liam Howlett briefly adopted the pseudonym Earthbound (named after his studio) for the original white-label summer releases of "One Love" (1993).
Leeroy Thornhill exited the band in 2000.
Keith Flint passed away by hanging on March 4, 2019.
