
The Knocks
The Knocks are an American electronic duo made up of Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “JPatt” Patterson. Their work spans disco-informed dance music, synthpop and electropop, with a catalogue that includes original records, collaborations and remixes.
The pair have released four full-length albums: 55, New York Narcotic, HISTORY and Revelation. Their EPs include Melody & Silence, Summer Series: 2019, TESTIFY, So Classic and Magic. Their releases have appeared through Big Beat Records, Neon Gold, Atlantic Records and their own Black Clay HeavyRoc Music.
Among The Knocks’ best-known singles are “Classic,” featuring Powers, “Ride or Die,” featuring Foster the People, and “Bodies,” featuring MUNA. They have also collaborated with Sofi Tukker on “Best Friend,” Purple Disco Machine on “Fireworks,” and ODESZA on “Love Letter.”
The duo have received two Grammy nominations: one for Best Dance/Electronic Album for their writing and production feature on “Love Letter,” and another for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical.
