Seether
Seether is a rock band formed in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1999.
Initially, they performed under the name Saron Gas until 2002, when they relocated to the United States and changed it to Seether, inspired by the Veruca Salt song, to prevent confusion with the hazardous chemical sarin gas.
Their breakthrough came in 2002 with the single “Fine Again,” and they maintained their popularity in 2004 with the single “Broken,” which reached #20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their success continued with tracks like “Remedy,” “Fake It,” and “Words as Weapons,” among others.
They were awarded ‘Artist of the Year’ and ‘Best Alternative Artist’ at the 2008 MTV Africa Music Awards.
