Rabit

Rabit is the stage name of Eric C. Burton, an American experimental electronic music producer closely associated with the Houston scene. Working under the Rabit name as well as his own, Burton has been linked to a range of club-adjacent electronic styles, including deconstructed club, experimental club, grimewave, minimal dubstep, vogue, and weightless. His music is often discussed in relation to grime and hip-hop, while also drawing on more abrasive post-industrial textures and softer, atmospheric elements associated with dream pop.

Burton is also identified as the founder of the label Halcyon Veil. In addition to functioning as an outlet for his own work, the label connection situates Rabit within a broader network of experimental electronic music that intersects with club music and its offshoots. Across releases credited to Rabit and related aliases, his output has been framed as part of an ongoing exploration of rhythm, bass pressure, and sound design that moves between dancefloor reference points and more abstract, experimental structures.
