Daniel Lopatin, known by his stage name Oneohtrix Point Never (pronounced “one-oh-tricks”), is an experimental electronic producer and composer from Wayland, Massachusetts, USA. Recognized as a leading figure in the creation of the vaporwave subgenre, Lopatin has made significant contributions to the contemporary electronic scene and its associated internet culture. His 2010 project under the alias Chuck Person, Chuck Person’s Eccojams Vol. 1, is frequently credited as the album that originated vaporwave.

Lopatin adopted the Oneohtrix Point Never name in 2007, a play on the name of the Boston FM radio station Magic 106.7. Betrayed in the Octagon marked the first in a trilogy of full-length albums, which were eventually compiled into 2009’s Rifts.

Shifting between ambient, plunderphonics, glitch, and industrial, OPN's groundbreaking sound has led to collaborations with artists such as Tim Hecker, The Weeknd, FKA twigs, and film directors Benny and Josh Safdie. He has performed in various venues, including clubs, the MOMA, and the ICA. Lopatin is also a member of the duo Ford & Lopatin, alongside Joel Ford.

In 2011, Daniel established the Software Recording Co. label, under which he and fellow artists like Autre Ne Veut and Suicideyear released music. The label would eventually shut down in 2016.
