Pop

Harry Edward Styles (born February 1, 1994) is a well-known English singer, songwriter, and emerging actor. He gained fame as a member of One Direction—a globally successful platinum-selling boy band. Since the band announced an indefinite hiatus in 2015, Styles has released three successful studio albums and ventured into acting. He has contributed to music for Ariana Grande, the 2018 romantic comedy Love, Simon, Meghan Trainor, One Direction, his own projects, and more.

Born and raised in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, Styles grew up with his sister, supported by their mother and stepfather. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in singing, recording covers on his karaoke machine as a child, and later becoming the lead singer of the Manchester band White Eskimo. In 2010, at the age of 16, Styles auditioned as a solo artist on The X Factor, where judge Simon Cowell grouped him with four other boys to form the English-Irish pop boy band, One Direction.

In April 2017, two years after One Direction's hiatus, Styles released his debut solo single “Sign Of The Times,” which received critical acclaim and topped the charts in over 20 countries. Influenced by rock bands like Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, and The Rolling Stones, his self-titled debut album soared to the top of the charts upon its release in May 2017, reaching the number one spot in 84 countries and selling a record-breaking 230,000 album units. He holds the record for the largest debut sales week for a British male artist in the United States.

Two weeks prior to his album release, Styles announced his first solo world tour on Twitter. Remarkably, his world tour sold out in just under two minutes, a week before the world heard his entire album.

In October 2019, “Lights Up” was released, debuting at number three in the U.K. and serving as the lead single for his second studio album, Fine Line. Following this, his second single “Watermelon Sugar” became his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with his third single “Adore You” peaking at number seven on the U.K. charts.

On December 13, 2019, Styles unveiled his much-anticipated second album Fine Line, which topped both the U.K. and U.S. charts, making him the first British male artist to have his initial two albums debut at number one.

Aside from music, Styles is in demand by renowned directors. He appeared as a WWII soldier in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk (2017) the same year he debuted as a solo artist. He played the male lead in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling and was one of the male leads in Michael Grandage’s My Policeman, based on the novel by Bethan Roberts.

In April 2022, Styles released “As It Was,” the lead single from his third studio album, Harry’s House, which came out on May 20 of the same year.

Love On Tour is Styles' second global tour in support of his albums, Fine Line (released December 13, 2019) and Harry’s House (released May 20, 2022). The tour began on September 4, 2021, and is scheduled to conclude on July 22, 2023, after 7 legs and 169 shows. This included a historic 15-night run at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden.
