Harry Styles

Harry Edward Styles, born 1 February 1994 in Redditch, England, rose to prominence in 2010 as a member of One Direction. The group was formed on The X Factor after its members had each been eliminated from the solo competition, and went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time before beginning an indefinite hiatus in 2016. Styles emerged from the group as a solo singer, songwriter and actor, building a catalogue that moves through pop, rock, soft rock, funk and synthpop.

His self-titled debut solo album arrived through Erskine and Columbia Records in 2017. Led by the UK number-one single “Sign of the Times,” it introduced his solo work on a large scale. Fine Line followed in 2019 and set the biggest first-week sales by an English male artist in the United States. Its fourth single, “Watermelon Sugar,” reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. Styles’ third album, Harry’s House, was released in 2022; its lead single “As It Was” became the world’s biggest single of that year, while the album received the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

In 2026, Styles released his fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. The record featured the global number-one singles “Aperture” and “American Girls.” Across his career, he has received six Brit Awards, three Grammy Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards, three American Music Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards. Fine Line and Harry’s House were both included in Rolling Stone’s “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list.

Alongside music, Styles has worked regularly in film. He made his screen debut in Christopher Nolan’s 2017 war film Dunkirk, and later appeared in Eternals (2021), Don’t Worry Darling (2022) and My Policeman (2022). His public image has also included flamboyant fashion and a solo Vogue cover appearance in a blue Gucci dress, making him the first man to appear alone on the magazine’s cover. Styles supports charitable causes and has advocated for gender, racial and LGBTQ equality.
