RVNG Intl.

RVNG Intl. is a Brooklyn, New York independent label founded by Matt Werth in 2003, with a catalogue rooted in experimental dance and electronic music and open to avant-garde approaches. Run by Werth, it has released work by artists including Blondes, The Body, Holly Herndon, Julia Holter, Maxmillion Dunbar and Stellar OM Source, alongside more recent artists such as Lucrecia Dalt, Horse Lords, Colin Self, Emily A. Sprague and Discovery Zone.

The label's early activity included the RVNG PRSNTS MX mixtape series and the Rvng of the Nrds 12-inch edit series. Its ongoing ReRVNG archival line revisits music from earlier eras, while FRKWYS brings contemporary musicians together with influential pioneers. RVNG also began issuing vinyl singles through the Beats in Space imprint in 2011, an imprint Werth co-owns with Tim Sweeney.

Billboard named RVNG Intl. one of America’s top 50 indie labels in 2011. Resident Advisor selected it as Label of the Month in January 2014, and Tiny Mix Tapes included it among its favourite labels of 2015. The label later received features from BBC Radio 6, Apple Music Experimental and The Vinyl Factory, and took part in Moogfest’s Prelude to Sleep series in 2017.

RVNG has paired its releases with charitable work through Come Mend, which directs a portion of record-sale profits to causes selected by its artists. In 2017 it produced the LGBTQ benefit compilation Peaceful Protest and pledged Bandcamp profits to the American Civil Liberties Union.
