Parkway Drive
Parkway Drive emerged from Byron Bay, New South Wales, in 2003 and became one of Australia’s top-selling metalcore bands. Across seven studio albums, the group has also released an EP, two DVDs, a split album and the book Ten Years of Parkway Drive. Their recorded output has moved through metalcore and heavier metal styles while maintaining a long-running core lineup.
The band’s commercial peak in Australia includes three consecutive ARIA Albums Chart number ones: Ire in 2015, Reverence in 2018 and Darker Still in 2022. Parkway Drive’s personnel has been stable since bassist Jia O’Connor joined in 2006. Earlier members Brett Versteeg departed in 2004 and Shaun Cash left in 2006. Loudwire named Parkway Drive among modern metalcore’s “Big Four,” alongside Bring Me the Horizon, Architects and Underoath.
