
Modest Mouse
Modest Mouse is an American indie rock group established in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington by singer/lyricist/guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy. The band's lineup has shifted significantly over time, with Isaac Brock being the only remaining original member. A notable addition in 2006 was legendary guitarist Johnny Marr.
Modest Mouse's debut album, This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About, was released in April 1996, and they have released six studio albums thus far. The band's April 2004 album Good News for People Who Love Bad News garnered mainstream success and is their best-selling album, achieving Platinum certification by the RIAA.
The name Modest Mouse originates from a passage in Virginia Woolf's story "The Mark on the Wall," which reads:
