Lapalux
Lapalux is the stage name of Stuart Nicholas Howard, an English record producer from Essex whose work is known for experimental textures and wonky, off-kilter beats. The name Lapalux is short for “Lap of Luxury,” and he has also released music as LPLX.
Working across electronic music, Howard has built his sound around detailed production, shifting rhythms and a taste for unconventional beat patterns. His releases include the LPs Nostalchic (2013), Lustmore (2015), Ruinism (2017) and Amnioverse (2019).
Alongside his own records, Lapalux has remixed material by Mirrors, The Acid and Young Thug. His production approach places texture at the center of the music, pairing electronic arrangements with deliberately skewed rhythmic ideas.
