
John Roberts
American singer, trumpeter, songwriter, arranger, conductor, and orchestrator (born in Houston in 1941). He was discovered in 1965 by Bob Garner, one of Don Robey's talent scouts, and signed a contract with Duke Records.
He worked most prominently with Barry White. His most famous recording is "Sockin' 1-2-3-4". He later became Head of the Music Department at Centennial High School in Compton, California. It appears that Mr. Roberts passed away on September 26, 2023.
