Boozoo Bajou
Boozoo Bajou is a German musical duo composed of Florian Seyberth and Peter Heider, known for a sound that brings together downtempo and related electronic styles with elements drawn from Cajun music and island rhythms. Working as a two-person project, they have been associated with genres such as trip hop, jazztronica, and downtempo, and have also appeared under variant spellings of their name.
The duo’s first album, Satta, was released in 2001. It introduced the approach for which they are noted: electronic production shaped by organic, regionally inflected musical references, rather than a strictly club-oriented template. Boozoo Bajou followed with a second album, Dust My Broom, released in 2005.
Alongside their own releases, Boozoo Bajou have produced remixes for a range of artists. Their remix work has included tracks by Common, Tosca, Trüby Trio, and Tony Joe White, reflecting a reach that extends across hip hop, electronic music, and roots-oriented songwriting. Their credits include production and arrangement work, consistent with the duo’s role as the primary architects of their recordings.
