Bondax
Bondax came to wider attention through BBC Radio after first being supported by BBC Introducing Lancashire, then receiving BBC Radio 1 airtime from DJs including Nick Grimshaw and Annie Mac. The English electronic duo consists of Adam Kaye, born 1 April 1994, and George Townsend, born 17 September 1993.
Formed while still teenagers, Kaye and Townsend developed a sound that moves between electronic music, UK garage, future garage, downtempo, ambient house, nu disco and indie soul. Writing in Dazed, Moses Wiener described Bondax’s music as “the aural equivalent of sipping an ice-cold Pimms on the balcony of your council estate flat.”
In 2012, Bondax launched their own label, Just Us Recordings. Its first release was fellow producer Karma Kid’s track “It’s Always.” The following year, the pair played European festivals including Bestival, Creamfields and Beacons, extending the radio support that had introduced their work to a broader audience.
