theBasement Discos
theBasement Discos is a house label from Valencia, Spain, run by Sam Paradise and Whatever Charles, with a sound that leans on funk and disco. It was meant to be a series of events, then grew into a weekly radio show, club residencies and a label. It calls itself a house music dealer since 2012.
The label relaunched in February 2019 and has since released Rick Wade, Todd Edwards, COEO, Rhode & Brown, Hotmood and Kid Simius. Its 100th release, ONE HUNDRED, brought ten label regulars together, among them Bernardo Mota and Larry Houl. Moodymann, Jamie xx and Disclosure have all played its records, and Beatport named it Hype Label of the Year in 2024.
Newer releases come from artists such as HP Vince, Robbast, Maxsrine and DJibouti. Its sister label Miura Records, started in spring 2021, handles the deeper, rawer side of the sound.
