South of North
South of North began in Amsterdam in 2018, after Dominik Rodemann met the Dutch multi-instrumentalist Ronald Langestraat in a bar there. The first release was a reissue of Langestraat's Searching, a jazz-soul album he had recorded himself in 1984.
The label has since moved to Paris and never settled on a sound, taking in ambient, dub, garage rock and noise. Brokenchord and Devon Rexi are among the artists it has released more than once.
