Four friends pooling rent money to book club nights in Helsinki is not the usual origin story for a label that would later programme Finland's first dedicated music week. BELOW0 was founded in 2019 by Dante Correa, Matti Mustonen, Pau Kraus, and Rasmus Purola, and from the start it operated as both a record imprint and a creative collective, putting out everything from Nordic ambient and trance to cloud rap and experimental pop, often on the same compilation.

The roster reflects that range. Glayden, the project of co-founder Mustonen, pairs vocal hooks with club production, while Niko Demus works a quieter lane of trance-inflected ambient heard on releases like "Cruise Control." Inter alia builds deconstructed electronic tracks, and together with Niko Demus forms Shepherd's Call, whose 2025 release "stray dogs" blends ambient textures with field recordings. DJ JVS and MFM anchor the label's club-facing side.

Club Zero, the collective's recurring event series, started at Aaniwalli in Helsinki and has since appeared at Trauma Bar und Kino in Berlin, as well as venues in Prague and Copenhagen. The nights are built around cross-genre programming and have hosted guests including Paul Seul and Oliver Lieb. A Club Zero stage has featured at Flow Festival, and in late 2025 the collective partnered with Amos Rex museum and GENELEC for "False Horizon," an immersive electronic event inside the Helsinki gallery.

In May 2025, BELOW0 launched Helsinki Music Week, the city's first dedicated multi-day music festival, with a lineup that included Erika de Casier, Sega Bodega, Lust For Youth, and CJ Bolland. The event was reviewed by The Line of Best Fit and drew international attention to a Helsinki scene that the collective had been building around for years.

Key releases on the label include the "Eternal Summer" compilation, the Glayden and Paul Seul collaboration "HELSINKI HARDCORE," and the "From HEL With Love" sampler. All output to date has been digital-only.
