Red is an American Christian rock band from Nashville, Tennessee. Formed in 2002, the group was started by brothers Anthony Armstrong (guitars) and Randy Armstrong, along with vocalist Michael Barnes. The band is also known as R3D and RED.

Red emerged from the Christian rock world with a sound that draws on alternative metal, Christian alternative rock, Christian rock, and post-grunge. Its early lineup included drummer Andrew Hendrix and guitarist Jasen Rauch alongside the founding members. Over time, the band’s personnel has expanded and shifted, with additional members associated with the group including Hayden Lamb, Joe Rickard, Dan Johnson, and Brian Medeiros.

Michael Barnes has served as the band’s lead vocalist, with Anthony Armstrong remaining a central guitarist and Randy Armstrong contributing on bass and other instruments. The group has released music through Red Entertainment and The Fuel Music, reflecting an approach that has included both band-affiliated and external label support.
