Manfredas
Manfredas has been on Vilnius radio since he was 13, and the city is still where the work is anchored. He runs Smala at Opium Club and plays the marathon sets that got him called the people's champion at home, built around a taste for chugging cold wave, slow electro and warped neo-trance.
Ivan Smagghe met him at Smala, and the connection turned into records: the 2016 EP 'Pink Industry', on Smagghe and Leon Oakey's Les Disques De La Mort, is where most people found him. He works from samples rather than synth patches, going back to the rawness of 80s home recordings, which is part of why the tracks sound less finished than their neighbours and are better for it.
