Brainwaltzera

Brainwaltzera has never given a name. The music is braindance in the Rephlex sense, made on polyphonic analogue synths with samples, field recordings and whatever else is to hand, including a modified dot matrix printer. It's organised around memory, specifically the way a sound or a smell drops you back into a moment, which is why the album shipped in scented packaging.

That album is 'Poly-Ana', on FILM. Before it came the self-released 'Marzipan' EP in 2016, 300 copies, gone quickly and noticed by Aphex Twin, then 'Aescoba' for the same label and 'Outdives' for Analogical Force. The range runs from dreamy downtempo to abrasive drill'n'bass, and the Aphex comparison that trails the project has more to do with lineage than with imitation.
