Amber-Simone

UK R&BSoulFunkPopBritish Soul

Amber-Simone grew up in east London and moved out to Hertfordshire as a teenager, close enough to keep coming back in. Her first single, 'Taught Me Better', arrived in 2017. By 'Strawberry Kisses' the sound had settled: disco and soul, clean arrangements, and a voice she describes as something she developed by experiment rather than something she was handed.

'Black, No Sugar' is the fullest thing she's made. It came out in 2021 as a three-track short film directed by Sophie Jones, with Amber-Simone and a band playing live in the studio, and it pulls gospel into neo-soul and modern R&B. She's collaborated with Shy Luv, Franc Moody and Joe Hertz, and holds a Momentum grant from the PRS Foundation.
