Western Vinyl
Western Vinyl is an independent record label formed as an outlet for lo-fi indie rock projects by its founders. It was established in 1998 by Brian Sampson and Ryan Murphy, who created the imprint originally to release their own music as Win Foster and Havergal.
The label is based in Austin, Texas. While it began with a specific purpose tied to the founders’ recordings, Western Vinyl has since been associated with a broader range of artists whose work aligns with independent and experimental currents in contemporary music. Its roster has included musicians and projects such as Elskavon, Joseph Shabason, Market, Elori Saxl, Erik Hall, Activity, Keith Kenniff, and Cactus Lee, reflecting an identity that extends beyond its initial lo-fi indie rock roots.
Western Vinyl maintains an online presence through its official website, westernvinyl.com.
