Western Vinyl began in 1998 as an outlet for the lo-fi indie rock projects of its founders, Brian Sampson and Ryan Murphy, who recorded as Win Foster and Havergal. Based in Austin, Texas, the independent label has since released work by artists including Keith Kenniff, Joseph Shabason, Elori Saxl, Erik Hall, Activity, Cactus Lee, Market and Elskavon.
