Strut

UK independent label, established by Quinton Scott.

From 1999-2003, Strut was a leading UK record label focused on uncovering lost gems of dance music history, including hard funk, underground disco, original breaks, Nigerian Afrobeat, old school hip hop, and overlooked music library classics.

Founded in 1999 to chronicle key areas of dance music's history, Strut's releases maintained high standards, offering killer dancefloor tracks and providing comprehensive context for the music, highlighting the stories of those behind the tunes, the clubs, and the scene of the era. Albums are mastered from original tapes when possible and feature detailed sleeve notes, researched and written by esteemed journalists, along with rare photographs and memorabilia.

Strut was relaunched in January 2008 and acquired by the !K7 label group. Releases after that date should list the country as Europe, unless there is a specific exclusive retailer in another territory.
