Poker Flat Recordings
Steve Bug founded Poker Flat Recordings in Berlin in 1998, creating a home for music that moves between minimal techno and house. The label operates as a sublabel of Superstition Recordings and followed Raw Elements, carrying Bug’s club-focused sensibility into a new imprint.
Its early identity was closely tied to Steve Bug’s own releases. His 1999 single “Loverboy” became one of Poker Flat’s best-known tracks and returned in several remix versions. DJ Koze later used the track in a mashup-style version over the text from Blumfeld’s “Tausend Tränen tief,” which became a club hit of its year.
Poker Flat has also provided a platform for artists including Jade PraiZe, Yasen, Selderv, Jim Rivers, Huxley, Dario D’Attis and Maniac. Among its recognised releases is Pläy, the debut album by Märtini Brös. Across albums and singles, the imprint has maintained a direct connection to the dancefloor while leaving room for the stripped-back structures of minimal techno and the swing and warmth of house.
