PC Music

PC Music emerged from London in 2013 as A. G. Cook’s record label and art collective, first sharing releases through SoundCloud. Its early work treated pop’s familiar language, especially the sounds and imagery of the 1990s and 2000s, with a surreal, exaggerated touch: pitch-shifted feminine vocals, bright synthetic production, and songs that could feel as glossy and immediate as an advert.

Cook ran the label around a roster that included Hannah Diamond, GFOTY, Danny L Harle, Finn Keane, formerly known as Easyfun, Namasenda and Planet 1999. Many of its artists worked through deliberately constructed personas informed by cyberculture, while the label’s visual and musical world drew openly on consumer branding, corporate imagery and online pop culture. The result was a deliberately polarizing approach to pop, attracting both praise and criticism from journalists.

PC Music documented its roster and wider aesthetic through the compilations PC Music Volume 1 in 2015, Volume 2 in 2016, and Volume 3 in 2022. By 2024, it had stopped actively issuing new music and shifted its activity to archival projects and special reissues.
